Peter himself is a professionally qualified industrial chemist (EurChem, C. Chem F.R.S.C.) who has gained expertise in both Health/Safety/Welfare and Environmental matters, the former by undertaking specific assignments aimed at identifying improvements in Health Safety and Welfare resulting in his adoption as a corporate member of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (MIOSH), and the latter, by studying for a masters degree in environmental law at the University of Central Lancashire (LLM Environmental Law). He has been registered with the Environmental Auditor's Registration Association (EARA) for several years as an environmental auditor and passed the examination to qualify him to register as a lead auditor and perform audits to BS5750 (now ISO9000 series). He is, in addition, a member of several other associations - United Kingdom Environmental Law Association (UKELA- Personal), East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce (Corporate) and the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEAM affiliate), Approved Consultants List - Bolton Metropolitan Borough Council.
